Alex Crowther, SIG Roofing’s Cardiff branch manager, enjoys playing rugby for nearby Wattstown RFC and helped to co-ordinate the sponsorship. The sponsorship will contribute directly to the players’ funds, where it will be used to buy playing kits and leisure wear for all the players.

Crowther said: “I’m delighted that SIG Roofing have been generous enough to sponsor my rugby club, the funds will go directly into players’ funds, meaning that the sponsorship will have a tangible impact on the team.”

Wattstown RFC play their rugby in the WRU National League 3B, East Central Division, and are going into the season aiming for promotion.

The year long sponsorship ensures a pitch-side advertising board at their home ground in addition to a weekly mention in the match day programme.

SIG Roofing has also sponsored local football team Pontyclun FC who play in Division 2 of the Welsh League. James Gronow, a yardman at SIG Roofing Cardiff, dedicates some of his leisure time playing for the newly sponsored team.

As with Wattstown RFC, Pontyclun FC will also receive a monetary contribution to their players’ funds, supporting the club’s players with equipment to ensure they are playing at their best.
