RGB raises Macmillan money in memory of colleague

The merchant’s charity total of £6,775.12 was raised through fundraising across all 17 of its branches.

On 27 September 2013 all 17 branches took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and raised £3,775.12 by offering breakfast to their customers in return for a donation to the charity.

Earlier in the year RGB held a Golf Day where Nobby Stiles was the after dinner speaker. The raffle and auction at this event raised £3,000.

The fund-raising efforts took on an extra poignancy for the company after it lost a colleague to cancer in July.

RGB chief executive Kevin Fenlon said: “Many people across the business had been affected after the tragic loss of Andy Shinner our Paignton branch manager to cancer at the end of July. Andy was a well-liked and respected colleague. Staff and customers wanted to do something to help raise money for this worthy cause as a mark of respect to Andy and his family. We are extremely grateful to everybody who supported this event.”
