Renewables Centre, part of plumbing and heating merchant business Wolseley has partnered with NAPIT to offer accredited fully funded Air Source Heat Pump training courses at locations across the UK thanks to the Government’s recent extension of the Heat Training Grant.
Officially launched in April 2025, Renewables Centre will welcome its first cohort of Air Source Heat Pump trainees next week at its dedicated facility in Shrewsbury. The government training grant is for England, but Renewables Centre are covering the cost of the training for Wales and Scotland.
Andrew Busst, Training Lead at Renewables Centre, said: “The extension of the Heat Training Grant is a vital move at a crucial time. It sends a clear message: the transition to low-carbon heating is accelerating, and skilled installers are central to making it happen.
“At Renewables Centre, we’ve removed as many barriers as possible to help heating professionals take that next step into renewables. Thanks to the government grant, we’re now offering free access to our accredited Air Source Heat Pump training course. It’s simple, straightforward, and designed to get more installers trained faster – without the admin or cost.”
Demand for air source heat pumps has grown nearly 90% year-on-year, and renewables are set to jump from just 5% to over 27% of installer workload in the next five years.
Renewables Centre was launched to provide a fully integrated pathway for heating professionals looking to enter the renewables market, combining accredited training, MCS-certified design services, technical support and supply under one roof.
