MKM invests in closed water wash bays

MKM has announced it is investing in closed loop wash bays at all its branches that offer the new MKM Hire service.

The merchant explained that they chose to invest in ODS’s EWB2 modular closed loop water wash bays because it reduces water usage and can be adapted for use on a variety of equipment.

Lee Armsby, business development manager for hire at MKM, said: “It was important for us to find a cleaning solution for our hire plant equipment that is adaptable, efficient and easy to use. In addition to this, the bays from ODS reduce water waste and chemical use. This market leading innovation is a great fit for MKM and helps us achieve our sustainability goals and do the right thing for the environment and communities around our branches.

“Investing in Hire is an important development for MKM and a fantastic further step in our work to build on the service our clients get from MKM. We take pride in offering a high standard of customer service and our customers are our main priority.”

The sustainability measure has been put into place at 13 of their branches and they have said this will be extended to more branches across the UK in the future. In addition to this, the EWB2 uses ultraviolet light to kill of any bacteria that may be present in the recycled water.
