Guy Perry Factory shot 1 002 minA. Perry Ltd, a fourth-generation family run manufacturing business is saluting the long-service of its MD, Guy Perry, who is celebrating his 40th anniversary of working for the firm in Cradley Heath.

To mark the significant milestone, a surprise event was held for Perry with their 70 employees enjoying a hog roast buffet, cake and a commemorative toast. In honour of his dedication and commitment to the firm, Perry was also presented with a picture memorialising the past four decades of service.

Guy Perry said: “Since visiting as a young boy, I’ve always had a love of the company, which is shared by our employees – many of our dedicated team have been working with us for 20, 30 years and our longest serving employee 60 years, so they’ve got me beaten!  Without them, the company would not be the success it is today and it was a great to have their support as we celebrated together.  I look forward to the coming years and continuing to take our business from strength-to-strength.”

Perry joined the firm in August 1981 at the age of 17 as an apprentice in the tool room before becoming a director in 1991. Perry worked to source an increasing range of products manufactured in China and India to further expand the firm. He then implemented a two-year project in 2013 introducing computerisation and automation to all aspects of the company, culminating in the £1.2m investment in robot automation into the warehouse in 2021. Spearheading investment in a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Delhi, Perry was able to ensure autonomy and ownership of the company’s supply chain; from sourcing materials, through to manufacturing, import and distribution to retailers.

Steve Perry, Head of Marketing said: “40 years is certainly an anniversary we weren’t going to let pass without a celebration!  Guy is the heart of the business and really leads by example to create the business ethos and culture we have created that we believe makes it a great place to work and a force to be reckoned with in the sectors we operate in.”
