Lighthouse Charity launches winter appeal

A Lifeline Under Pressure: £200,000 needed by Lighthouse Charity to Support Construction Workers in Crisis

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is launching an urgent appeal to raise £200,000 to ensure that they can continue to meet increased demand as they face one of the toughest years in their history.

According to the charity the number of families reaching out for wellbeing support has increased by 51%, bringing demand for their services to record levels. Food deliveries are up 65% and the charity has funded over 7000 counselling sessions, providing immediate support to those who are struggling.

The charity estimates that they need an additional £200,000 to ensure their impactful services are maintained.

CEO of the Lighthouse Charity, Sarah Bolton, said, “The demand for all areas of support continues to grow. Every day our team are hearing first hand about the incredible pressures people are under; workers who are unable to cover the cost of even basic necessities.

“We need the support of the industry to ensure that we can continue to deliver our vital services.”

Individuals and organisations can donate today via the dedicated Winter Appeal webpage which also details how donor’s money is spent.
