IoBM partners with BMJ Industry Awards

The BMJ Industry Awards is the only merchant award programme that is decided by a public vote amongst industry participants. This year, it has partnered with the Institute of Builders Merchants, as a way of highlighting the importance of young people to the future of merchanting.

The IoBM, which is a division of the Builders Merchants Federation,  promotes and acknowledges experienced, qualified individuals employed within the Builders Merchants industry by supporting them in their personal development through relevant training and Continual Professional Development. Various grades are available from student member learning the trade, through to full member for time served individuals, all recognising personal qualifications and experience.

BMJ Group Managing Editor Fiona Russell Horne says: “The BMJ Industry Awards has championed the recognition of emerging talent with its Maddie Rose National Rising Star, Independent Rising Star and Trainee/Apprentice of the Year award categories. We are delighted that the IoBM has come on board, as we know that both organisations share a common goal, the promotion of this amazing industry to a new generation of merchants and building material suppliers.”

The BMJ Industry Awards is open now for entry, with the nominations window closing on April 14th. Voting will open on May 1, and the final deadline is in July. The winners will be announced at a gala lunch in London on Thursday September 28th.
