Double win for Wastecycle at Saint-Gobain awards

Wastecycle, East Midlands based resource management and recycling company has been awarded two accolades at this year’s Saint-Gobain Construction Products supplier awards.

The 2016 ceremony was held at the Marriott Hotel in Leicester on March 1, celebrating suppliers across Saint-Gobain’s 50+ brands, including Weber, British Gypsum and Isover.

As well as being runner up for this year’s Account Management Award, Wastecycle picked up 2016’s Health & Safety Award and was named Supplier of the Year for the plasterboard-recycling service developed as part of their contract with British Gypsum.

They were up against companies such as O2, EON, DHL, Wincanton, GB Railfreight and Hanson, but Wastecycle say their commitment to customer service, innovation and health and safety resulted in them taking the prize.

The scheme for British Gypsum has also earned Wastecycle a Bronze Green Apple Environmental Award for Best Practice has saved more than 30,000 tonnes of plasterboard material from reaching landfill each year. Their 18-month-old health & safety culture programme resulted in a 20% reduction in personal injuries during the first half of 2015 and saw them accident free for the remainder of the year.
