Dinner Dance raises thousands for charity

The NMBS Dinner Dance has played its part in fundraising for charitable causes, with an impressive amount being raised once again this year. More than 1,200 guests attended the Dinner Dance on 26th October 2019, coming together to raise thousands in donations for the CRASH charity.

Many builders’ merchants and manufacturers within the industry are themselves, patrons of the CRASH charity, giving their support generously every year.

NMBS topped up the total donated on the night, bringing the final figure to an extremely impressive £12,000.35.

In recognition of its efforts, NMBS was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from CRASH, which said: “It is only thanks to the support of individuals like you, and companies in the construction sector that CRASH can help homelessness charities and hospices with life-changing building projects. By supporting CRASH, you are helping us to continue creating places that care for people when they are most in need.” CRASH Charity enveloperesizED2

CRASH is a practical charity that supports homelessness and hospice charities in construction-related projects. This means CRASH works with other charities to help with the practical elements of building projects, providing free-of-charge expertise, cash grants, and free or discounted building materials.

Recent projects CRASH has supported include the building of a new mezzanine floor to a soup kitchen in London, providing a home for homeless people in Winchester, and creating a family apartment for a children’s hospice in Oxford.

The annual NMBS Dinner Dance is the highlight of the merchant industry’s social calendar, bringing representatives from merchants and supplier businesses together for a night of networking, entertainment, and fine dining.
