Think you understand what your customers do? Then prove it. The Institute of Builders Merchants has laid down a challenge to merchants across the country to compete in the Skills Challenge event 2014.
If you and three colleagues think you’ve got what it takes then head to Leeds College of Building on October 23.
Now in its third year, the IoBM Practical Building Skills Challenge will test merchants’ joinery, block paving, plastering and tiling skills in a fun and rewarding, team building atmosphere.
It is designed to offer merchant staff a taste of some of the main building disciplines and to underpin product and practical knowledge. Every participant will receive one year’s free membership to the IoBM, while first and second places will be awarded special prizes.
Steve Sellick, president of the IoBM, said: “Every year we get more and more merchants testing their skills and competing in the challenge. The feedback is always really positive and it’s clear to see that everyone who participates gets a lot out of the experience. I’m looking forward to welcoming this year’s entrants and crowning a new winner of the IoBM Practical Building Skills Challenge 2014.”
