A study of tradespeople has revealed that two thirds, 66%, love bacon and that baked beans are their least favourite item – and most surprising of all, 20% said they prefer a glass of water over a brew.
The study, conducted by metals4U, asked over 500 tradespeople what their favourite items on a breakfast menu were, it revealed that 30% chose coffee as their drink of choice, 21% said they’d have juice or water and only 16% choosing a cup of tea.
Bacon and sausage were neck and neck for the title of a builder’s favourite breakfast item, with 43% of builders choosing them. It was a tight run contest between the two for the favourite breakfast sarnie, but bacon, 36%, just edged out sausage, 34%.
When it comes to condiments, 1% of builders prefer ketchup with three quarters opting for no sauce at all. Brick layers also prefer a dry sandwich, nine in 10 preferring to keep it simple.
Builder’s top five items are included; bacon (43%), sausage (43%), fried egg (37%), scrambled egg (34%) and mushrooms (31%).
Builder’s least favourite items included; black pudding (8%), hashbrowns (12%), beans (16%), toast (19%) and fried bread (24%).
The data revealed that the contemporary builder is ready to give up some fry up classics, to go for healthier options such as juices.
