Seven new Freemen join WCoBM

The Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants (WCoBM) has welcomed seven new Freemen to the Company at the admission ceremony on Monday 16th March at Apothecaries’ Hall, taking the total number of Liverymen and Freemen to 262.

They are: Carlywn Coombes of Bence & Co, Jonathan Day of Day Aggregates Ltd, Martin Keay of AW Lumb & Co Ltd, Ian Murphy of IBC Buying Group, Simon Taylor of Ibstock PLC, Philip Walford of Covers Timber and Builders’ Merchants, and Kevin Williams of NMBS.

Following the ceremony, the new Freemen joined Master Lucia Di Stazio, the Court of Assistants and many other Liverymen and Freemen at the Company’s annual City & Awards Luncheon at Apothecaries’ Hall.

Master Lucia Di Stazio said: “It was a pleasure to welcome seven new Freemen at their recent admission, representing builders’ merchants and suppliers across the building materials sector. The ceremony is a special occasion and an important time to reinforce WCoBM’s key focuses in supporting the industry, strengthening professional connections, championing the next generation and contributing to worthy causes from the Livery’s charitable fund. Congratulations to all!”
