Independent builders merchants Keith Builders Merchants, Lawsons, and Irish building materials supplier Kilwaughter Minerals were the big winners at the Achiever of the Year Awards held by the Builders Merchants Federation at the end of the annual BMF Members Day Conference and Awards last night.
The BMF Young Merchant Achiever of the Year gold award winner was Keir Smith, sales executive at Keith Builders Merchants in Inverness. The silver award winner was City Plumbing’s marketing manager Chimene Codner, and the bronze medal went to Stephanie Higgs, group category manager at Stark Building Materials.
Jordan Payne, branch supervisor at independent merchant Lawsons, won the BMF Apprentice of the Year.

Other individual winners on the night were Ben Weighhill, assistant branch manager at Challenge Fencing, who won Best Performing Student in the BMF Diploma in Merchant Management, and Peppard Building Supplies’ George Longworth, who won Best Performing Online Student.
Company winners included: JT Atkinson, BMF Apprenticeship Engagement Award, Forktruck Solutions, BMF Sustainability Award, and LBS, Training Engagement Award.
Tim Rowbottom of Collier and Catchtpole won the BMF Honorary Achievement Award.
During the evening, held at the Hinckley Island Hotel, and hosted by Colin Murray, presenter of C4’s Countdown TV show, a raffle and auction raised money for the Maddie Rose Campaign, in advance of #maddiesday, today (September 20th).
