When the Coalition Government took over nearly two years ago its economic plans went something like this: "Let's cut everything we possibly can, blame it all on those Labour chaps spending too much, and then ease off when things get better in a couple of years. I make absolutely no apology for the huge number of stories about charity fund-raising that we've been featuring recently.

Well, it's a start. The Government launched its NewBuy scheme on Monday which, it hopes will boost sales of new build houses and bring in new jobs to a construction industry that desperately needs them.
