I'm going to throw a few numbers around, if I may and this may turn into something of a lecture. For which I make no apology whatsoever.

I'm cheating a bit with this week's blog. By which I mean that someone else has written most of it.

One of the nice things about travelling across the country by train is the amount t of stuff you can see looking out of the window.

Preparations for the General Election are moving along nicely:

Eavesdropping on a conversation between two ladies of advancing years on the station platform the other day, I heard the following exchange:

Zero inflation. Wow.

Wolseley UK has re-joined the BMF. Which is nice.

My first reaction was: hey, haven't we heard this before? My second reaction, on realising that yes, we have had something very similar before, was: what the actual (insert expletive of choice here)?

There appears to be some sort of election next week. So, in the interests of impartiality (which my regular readers will know is not something that comes easily to me), I've had a look through some of the manifestos to see what, if anything, the construction industry might be able to expect.
