CCF supports supply chain with ASFP passive fire experience

CCF, supported by ROCKWOOL and Promat, is providing a series of ASFP passive fire protection product training sessions for its customers at CCF branches across the UK.

The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) mobile classroom is scheduled to visit five CCF branches in Harmondsworth, South Ruislip, Cardiff, Exeter and Southampton this autumn- with three sessions planned at each branch.

CCF South Ruislip hosts ASFP passive fire experience

Richard Gay, technical manager at CCF said: “These events are an excellent example of collaboration in action. Our role as distributor puts us in a unique position to be able to join manufacturers and industry associations like the ASFP, together with our customers in order to offer dedicated technical training for installers. It’s part of what makes us CCF – our commitment to working with our supply chain partners and investing in our own technical competency to support our customers.

“All the events we’ve hosted so far this month have been very well attended – providing an impromptu networking opportunity for everyone who joined us too. We got some great feedback from attendees so watch this space for more events in the future.”

ASFP is the UK’s leading trade association for the passive fire protection sector and its aim is to bring together passive fire protection manufacturers, contractors and certification bodies to encourage, develop and give guidance on essential standards in passive fire protection.

Dedicated training courses are a vital part of that work and hosting these events at branch level is an important way CCF is supporting its customers, and driving up industry competence as required in the Building Safety Act.

Rich Green, commercial manager at the ASFP added: “Passive fire protection is absolutely fundamental to building safety and with the implementation of the Building Safety Act, providing up-to-date training has never been more important.

“We’d like to do more roadshow style events like this, though the teams at CCF, ROCKWOOL and Promat have already set the bar very high! These events are all fully subscribed now but we offer passive fire protection training courses all year round for anyone looking to refresh their passive fire protection knowledge.”

CCF was recently nominated at the Association of Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) Awards 2023 in the ‘highest engagement of the year’ category.
