Winning Ways

An honest tale speeds best, being plainly told.

There’s still time – just – to book your tickets to the highlight of the merchanting calendar. Well, the highlight for this month anyway – I’m not so vain that I think that our BMJ Industry Awards – still in its toddler stage – has overtaken any of the other fine, upstanding, long-established events. It will, however, be a fabulous celebration of what is good and great about the merchanting sector – namely the peeople.

I know that I’m not the only one who had a jolly good time when we held the inaugral event back in May 2018. Spending the day amongst some of  my favourite people, with a glass of fizz in my hand was always going to put a smile on my face, but not only that, I loved the fact that we could celebrate and highlight the very best that the industry has to offer.

We’ve had more votes cast this year – thousands of you put finger to keyboard and made your choices in our Merchant Brand and People categories. We’ve made some changes this year; everything has to evolve. This year the Showroom category has been split into two: Merchant Kitchen and Bathroom Showroom of the Year and Merchant Showroom of the Year, while we’ve added Timber Merchant of the Year as a new category alongside the new ‘Diversity Award’. This will recognise a company that has demonstrated the conscious removal of bias and barriers and introduction of initiatives designed to encourage positive change and development throughout the business. It’s sponsored by Midland Lead, who have been championing Women in Construction and the whole diversity concept for some years.

If you want to be there amongst the good and the great and recognise the hard work and dedication (not least from the BMJ events team in putting on the whole show) that goes to make this industry what it is, then you can book some of the remaining tickets HERE (but HURRY – they have been selling like the proverbial hot cakes).

The event is supported by heavyweight industry names including ACO, Brett Martin, H+H, Hanson Cement, K-Rend, Knauf Insuation, Lakes Showering Spaces, Marsh Industries, Marshalls, Midland Lead, Pavestone, Quinn Building Products, Rockwool and Siniat.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
