Triton Showers has urged housebuilders to design more resource-efficient bathrooms that encourages consumers to adopt more sustainable habits.
This comes as building regulations and legislation continues to highlight energy efficiency as a key priority, with the UK government recently launching a £1bn domestic energy efficiency scheme for existing homes.
Karen Wise, head of product management at Triton Showers, said: “When it comes to making homes more efficient, empowering users to make habitual changes is crucial. You can opt for products that are designed to be efficient but if these aren’t used effectively, they may not deliver the desired results. Therefore, enabling end-users to make conscious choices when using their systems should be a key consideration when designing bathroom spaces.”
To support this, Triton has developed its a first-to-market concept; its ENVi is the first electric shower with personalised profiles and an eco-mode to encourage behaviour change.
Karen added: “Electric showers have long been an energy-efficient choice due to how they heat water on demand, but the category is continuing to evolve in a way that’s potentially game-changing. ENVi marks a significant milestone as it balances sustainability, aesthetics and functionality like never before.
“Our market insights have highlighted that end-users want to personalise their shower experience, so ENVi allows them to remotely adjust water temperature, set a timer, and easily monitor water and energy usage. Not only that, but housebuilders can also meet consumer demand for a sleek interior aesthetic, as the heater box can be installed in a loft space or airing cupboard to maintain a clean, stylish finish.”
