A team of colleagues from Travis Perkins has successfully completed the Three Peaks Challenge, raising over £3,000 for Alzheimer’s Society, the company’s chosen charity partner.
The challenge saw Rob Vaughan, Sam Ripley, Pete Dolan, Iain Parker and Matt Wilson scale the UK’s three highest peaks – Mount Snowdon, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis – within an impressive 23 hours.
Vaughan, Midlands key account manager and organiser of the initiative, said: “This was a great personal challenge for all of us and an opportunity to raise much-needed funds for Alzheimer’s Society. It was important to us that we help increase awareness of the critical support the charity provides to those living with dementia. We are incredibly thankful for the generous donations that helped us exceed our initial goal of £2,500.”
The Midlands-based team began with Mount Snowdon, which they climbed in just over three hours, followed by Scafell Pike in three hours, and a challenging five-hour ascent to the summit of Ben Nevis.
Earlier this year, Travis Perkins announced a three-year partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, committed to raising funds and awareness to support the charity’s vital work in care, support, and research for people affected by dementia.
