Warrington Borough Council has granted planning permission for builders merchant group Travis Perkins to build a new logistics centre.
The 700,000 sq ft regional logistics centre at Omega North in Warrington will supply Travis Perkins wholesale and retail outlets across the region, supporting around 450 jobs on site.
Construction of the £35m logistics centre is expected to be completed in 2014 with operation planned for 2015.
Geoff Cooper, chief executive of the Travis Perkins Group, said: “This is an exciting time for the entire group. We are growing our already extensive product portfolio, and our new RDC in Warrington will enhance our offering by improving the supply of products to our branch network.
“We always work hard to put our customers first, and this is another important development.”
