Travis Perkins directors get on their bikes

On Wednesday Aug 17 2011 they will cycle the 63 miles to Penrith from Whitehaven in Cumbria, although the following day will be mostly uphill and gruelling as they get to Allenheads. On the last day they have 45 miles of cycling to get them to Tynemouth and the finish.

The directors, who hope to raise £50,000 between them for the two charities are:

Andrew Popple – northern regional managing director, Kevin Robley – northern regional sales director, Marc Chitryn – northern regional director a regional directors Paul McGill, John Burke, Rob Kuzemko, John Gibson, Mark Walker and Simon Wardle.

McGill points out that all nine are “of varying degrees of fitness, more used to travelling in our cars than bikes, so this is going to be a hard slog for us all.” They are being joined by Arwel Edwards & John Keenan from British Gypsum.

There is an online donation site for the ride TP Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge
