Midlands-based builders and plumbers merchants Tippers bought Huthwaite Roofing Supplies in Sutton-in-Ashfield on Christmas Eve 2015.
HRS had been trading for over 25 years and stocks a range of essential building materials alongside a core profile of specialist roofing supplies. All current staff have been retained and normal opening hours have resumed.
Tippers director Bill Tipper says: “The acquisition of HRS is a fantastic opportunity for Tippers as it means that we are now able to broaden our sales and delivery area to our current, and potential new customers, in the area.”
“We were very happy to be able to complete the acquisition before Christmas Day, as this meant that current HRS staff could celebrate the festive period without being uncertain of the future. Now we’re into the New Year, we are very much looking forward to developing the branch over the next 12 months. Current plans include a broadening of its stock range, plus a program of yard and shop improvements.”
Celebrating its 100th year in 2016, Tippers supplies home improvement, building and landscaping supplies to both the trade and public, throughout the Midlands. There are now eight Tippers branches: Lichfield (where the head office is based), Tamworth, Wolverhampton, Kidderminster, Birmingham, Nuneaton, Uttoxeter and Huthwaite.
Each branch incorporates a self-selection store and a trade counter, certain branches also offer a tool hire service and have a dedicated kitchen and bathroom showroom.
