Thieves force firm to trial own product

Earlier this month, when DEKS Distribution UK launched Perform, a lead replacement roofing product, they could not have predicted that within a few days the would end need to put it to the test on the company’s own warehouse buildings.

Thieves force firm to trial own product

Thieves struck at DEKS’ premises on an industrial estate in Portbury near Bristol, stripping off hundreds of pounds worth of lead from surrounding warehouse and office units.

General manager David Jones said, “As I drove up to our offices, I noticed that the lead flashing from the canopy above the external door was missing on both of our units, and some of our neighbours’ buildings had suffered the same fate.

“Turning a negative into a positive, I realised this presented the ideal opportunity for me to test out Perform for myself – and I’m pleased to report it was as easy to use and fit as we say it is!” he added.
