Plasterboard manufacturer Siniat will be sponsoring a Building Safety Panel during the the Building the Future Conference, focusing on the impact of new regulations brought in to improve safety and accountability throughout the construction industry.
The panel is part of a CPD event that aims to deliver insights to help those working across the construction industry.
A key focus will be the role of digital tools to support traceability throughout construction and the lifetime of a building. ‘Product passports’ have become a vital tool in supporting the golden thread that was introduced in support of the Building Safety Act, providing a quick and efficient means to access testing, performance, maintenance and installation data.
Technical director of Etex Building Performance, Nigel Morrey, said: “Regulations have driven an incredible shift change in accountability in demonstrating that products are compliant, which has seen a raft of new technology introduced to evidence that. While regulatory change always brings questions and challenges, the move to evidence performance standards has driven a new focus on research and testing to support the launch of new, ever more efficient products, and a greater depth of test data.”
The Building the Future conference takes place in London on October 2.
