A total of 29 teams, made up of RGB staff, suppliers and customers, took part in the fourball competition. The team representing RGB’s Bideford branch was the overall victor.

Following the golf, players enjoyed a sit down meal and took part in further games to boost the fundraising total. Former Manchester United and England footballer, Lee Sharpe, was on hand to entertain the guests during the evening.

Rob Allen, operations manager at RGB, said: “Our golf events are always extremely well supported and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that helped us raise in excess of £2,000 for such a great charity.

“We will be supporting Macmillan again in September when our branches hold breakfast mornings as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event.”
