Former Intergas UK managing director Kevin Phipson is to launch Giona UK Ltd this September.
The company has the sole UK sales and distribution rights for Italian cylinder and air-source heat pump (ASHP) manufacturer Group Giona SPA. It will supply the full Giona product range to the UK market.
The range includes indirect, direct and double-coil cylinders for solar, and indirect and direct ASHPs cylinder combinations. Servicing and technical back-up will also be provided.
Initially Giona UK will stock only Giona products although there are plans to expand the product portfolio with complementary products in the future.
Focusing on the new build, social housing and refurbishment markets, Giona UK has also signed an agreement with Embrass Peerless which will see the independent distributor handle sales to the premium independent and one-off markets.
Phipson says: “Giona Group manufactures some of the most energy efficient cylinders, air source heat pumps and water heaters available. They enable users to save energy while giving them access to high quality products that are extremely reliable”.
Giona Group is one of the largest manufacturers of cylinders and ASHPs in Italy. It supplies products to more than 40 countries throughout the world including the USA and Canada, and export sales account for approximately 60 per cent of its business.
