Setting off from Folkestone, with an overnight stop at Rye, Chappell’s route took in Hythe, Dungeness and Camber, before heading up (and down) the hills of Hastings Country Park and along the coastal path into Eastbourne.

A seasoned fundraiser, Chappell has undertaken a number of previous challenges for Teenage Cancer Trust. As well as a wing-walk and abseil down Portsmouth’s Spinnaker tower in 2019, Stuart completed a similar trek last year. He was named as Teenage Cancer Trust’s ‘Legend of the Year’ in 2021.

Stuart Chappell said: “I am so grateful to everyone that has sponsored and supported me to raise vital funds for such a deserving cause. I was lucky to be joined by a number of friends along the way, especially on the second day, when the route took in some tough hills. The best part was completing the final stretch accompanied by my mum, to cross the finish line at Eastbourne Pier.”

Allun Pittingale, managing director, Parker Building Supplies, said: “Well done and huge congratulations to Stuart. He is a true inspiration and we are so proud of what he has achieved.”
