The Confederation of Timber Industries has announced that Nick Boles MP, Minister of State in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills will be addressing their inaugural industry conference which will be held on Wednesday 26 October. The location of the event is yet to be announced.
The Confederation of Timber Industries was first launched last year, and is supported by 75 producers, manufacturers and distributors of timber based products as well as their trade associations. They represent timber supply chain sectors from sawmilling, timber distribution, trussed rafter manufacturing to furniture makers, paper-based household goods, timber merchants and housing construction.
The CTI will be presenting their policy reports on business growth, skills and environment in the timber supply chain, along with a debate about their policy recommendations with around 200 decision makers and opinions formers from the industry and Westminster.
CTI chief executive, Dirk Vennix said: “This historic event is the result of a very fruitful partnership between CTI and its members. I would particularly like to thank our premium sponsor Nexus CIFS and co-sponsors Arbor Forest Products, Danzer, International Timber, Jewson, Lathams and SCA for their strong support.
“I am confident that CTI conference will trigger a constructive debate on the future of the UK Timber Industry. So remember the date and look out for early bird ticket invitations.”
