Decking company Millboard has introduced the DuoFix Side-Fixing Guide, to provide installers with a quick and easy means of laying decks with a completely clean finish.
The DuoFix enables boards to be fixed from the side, resulting in a clean finish with the face of the board completely clear of screw holes or any other sign of the fixings used.
Simple to use, the DuoFix sits over the decking board to be fixed. A thumb-operated control is then used to adjust the tool to the width of the board. Once in position, Durafix® fixings are routed with the supplied driver bit through the carefully aligned holes, at the perfect angle and depth to secure each board to the sub-frame.
The Duofix operates at board widths of 145-200mm, making it compatible with all Millboard decking boards, and even some softwood decking. A consistent 6mm gap between boards is maintained and there is no trace of the fixings on the surface of the deck, even when used with lighter coloured boards.
