Lords Group buys eBuildingSupplies

Independent builders merchant Lords has acquired online building supplies provider eBuildingSupplies.

As part of the transaction Unimer, the merchant buying co-operative, will continue to retain its existing minority stake in the business.

The online business that generates over 30,000 sales leads and enquiries of building and timber materials a year worth over £40 million for a network of builders and timber merchants throughout the UK.

Shanker Patel, CEO of The Lords Group says: “We are excited about the future of eBuildingSupplies within the Lords group. As long standing partners of eBuildingSupplies we have seen substantial and consistent sales flowing from the enquiries we receive from them. We are planning to invest significantly in developing and refining the current offering to merchants to help them share in the success we and other partners have benefitted from.”

Robin Somerville, developed eBuildingSupplies says: “Last year I qualified as a barrister and mediator helping businesses resolve their commercial and employment disputes and realised that I was no longer the best person to take the business to the next stage in its development.
