Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Jeremy Norris has been appointed as managing director of Lawsons (Whetstone) Ltd. He has served in a number of roles including commercial director and most recently alongside CFO Paul Rushent, as joint managing director.
Chairman Simon Lawson said “We are delighted that Jeremy has agreed to lead the company through a period of consolidation after considerable acquisition activity. His experience in multiple roles and in-depth knowledge of the business makes him the ideal candidate to oversee this next chapter in Lawsons’ evolution”.
Over the past three years Lawsons has rapidly expanded through a number of acquisitions including AVS Fencing & Landscaping, The Landscape Centre, Oxford Fencing, Witham Timber and Briants of Risborough.
“I am honoured to have the confidence of the Board” said Norris, adding “it has been invaluable working alongside Paul Rushent over the past three years, but our size and structure now requires him to increase his focus upon finance and legal requirements. I look forward working with all my fellow Directors in steering the business through the exciting growth years ahead”.
