Jewson cycles to help Barnardo’s

Builders merchant Jewson has raised over £20,000 for children’s charity Barnardo’s through its annual cycle event, the Tour de Jewson.

The event brought together customers, suppliers and employees to cycle over 2,500 miles, with more than 200 participants making their way across the country to finish in John O’Groats, Scotland.

Now a regular fixture in the merchant’s calendar, the last four successive Tour de Jewson events have raised over £100,000.

Peter Stringer, Managing Director of Jewson, said: “We are incredibly proud of the work undertaken by all of our employees to raise funds for Barnardo’s. At Jewson, we strive to increase the positive impact we have on local communities and our employees have embraced our commitment to charity whole heartedly.

“The Tour de Jewson is our largest charity event and it’s wonderful to see so many of our customers, suppliers and employees coming together for a common goal. Since our ‘together’ programme was launched in 2002, we have helped to raise over £2 million, alongside our sister brands, for a range of worthwhile charities. We look forward to continuing our efforts with Barnardo’s for the remainder of this year.”
