James Jones highlights role of women in timber

James Jones & Sons launched a series of short films in celebration of International Women’s Day this week. The films aim to showcase the number of careers and opportunities there are across the timber and forestry industry and to dispel the myth that the timber industry is just for men.

A number of films have been launched across the week, with the main film being launched on International Women’s Day itself and include participation from a number of women working in various roles, from various locations across the James Jones Group.

The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day campaign is ‘Inspire Inclusion,’ to emphasise the importance of diversity and empowerment in all aspects of society. This year’s campaign theme underscores the crucial role of inclusion in achieving gender equality. It calls for action to break down barriers and challenge stereotypes and create environments where all women are valued and respected.

Rosetta Forbes, Group Head of HR, said “James Jones & Sons is proud to support International Women’s Day and celebrate all of the wonderful women working in the company. We have a number of internal activities planned across our sites that aim to raise awareness and make a genuine and sustained contribution to our ongoing journey of inclusion.”
