Institute Of Builders Merchants launches Skills Challenge Day

The Institute of Builders Merchants has launched a Skills Challenge Day in which participants will get to learn more about the products they sell but in a fun, challenging and very hands on way.
The day, at the Cambridge Regional College on Friday October 8 will give participants the chance to work alongside other merchants on activities such as:

  • Building & erecting a timber frame structure

  • Laying bricks

  • Fitting cladding

  • Cutting and fixing plasterboard

  • Bending & installing copper pipes

  • Tiling with ceramics

Prizes will be awarded for the best build and all attendees will be awarded a free year’s membership of the Institute of Builders Merchants.

IoBM President Rebecca Mason says: “We all know that practical experience enhances product knowledge and enables employees to better advise customers on how to use and work with the products too.”

Places can be booked via www.iobm.co.uk
