Ideal Bathrooms makes distribution investment

Bathroom distributor Ideal Bathrooms has increased its available warehouse space after moving to a new site.

The company will remain on the Wakefield 41 Industrial Estate, in West Yorkshire, but in a new distribution centre that is 18,000sq ft larger than its former site.

The move will help the firm meet increased demand for its products from Northern customers, as well as allowing it to honour its next-day delivery promise on a wider range of items.

Kim Kirby-Earnshaw, operations director at Ideal Bathrooms, said: “As the business continues to develop, and the demand for stock availability in the Northern depots continues to increase, there is a requirement for more space; the improved capacity gives us the means to support our customers further.

“The new 45,000sq ft single site warehouse gives us an additional 18,000sq ft of much-needed capacity, which will strengthen our position with the customers serviced from this site.” The new warehouse also features LED lighting throughout, improving the working environment for staff and significantly reducing Ideal’s energy consumption.
