A charity day at the Pudsey branch of builders merchant, Gibbs & Dandy, has raised more than £500 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Among the star attractions of the day was the presence of the Rugby League Challenge Cup trophy, as well as Harry the Hawk, mascot of the Hunslet Hawks.
Gibbs and Dandy’s Pudsey branch recently signed up to be the team’s 2015 shirt sponsor.
Not only was Harry showing off the new kit, but he also brought along the Championship One trophy and the Lazenby Cup, which were both won by the Hunslet Hawks last season.
The Pudsey branch, located on Richardshaw Lane, hosted the event for its suppliers and customers.
There were a series of product demonstrations by suppliers, such as Nest, Makita and Stonemarket, as well as plenty of pies to eat.
General manager, Darren Hoyland, said: “It was a fantastic day. Everyone had a great time, though it’s difficult to say what was the more popular draw, the trophies or the pies. But one thing’s for sure, the pies were delicious!
“This branch, and Gibbs & Dandy as a whole, are passionate about supporting charities, both national and local, so we’re very pleased to have raised this money for Macmillan.”
