Higgins Building Supplies adds new branch

Independent builders merchant, Higgins Building Supplies has opened a new branch in Irthlingborough.
The new premises, with a sales counter area of over 500sq m, is located on the A6, between Bedford and Kettering, opposite the Nene Park football ground.

Director in charge of the new branch, Peter Higgins, says: “As a company we are looking forward to meeting new trade customers and serving the retail customers in our new store, which will focus more on lightside products, while also carrying a traditional heavyside core range.”

Nigel Higgins, managing director, says: “The refurbishment of the factory unit has taken some time to complete. The work that we have put in means that the new branch has a warm, friendly feel that should appeal to more retail customers. Sometimes builders’ merchants can appear hostile and cold, so we have tried to make it a friendlier environment to shop and work in.

“As ever with Higgins, the staff are important to us. We took on several new faces during the summer so that we could train them the “Higgins way” and their knowledge and expertise in every field is well represented at the new branch while not depleting the existing staff from the original branch at Turnells Mill Lane, Wellingborough.”
