Hanson Cement joins the BMF

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has welcomed Hanson Cement into its membership, with the supplier joining the Federation from 1 February.
Hanson Cement’s packed product range includes cements and specialist cements, ready to use concretes and mortars, asphalts, base and decorative aggregates and conservation products. These include the Multicem, Quickcem, Postfix, Fast Set Postfix and Roadrepair brands.

Part of the Heidelberg Cement Group, which employs around 53,000 people from around the world, Hanson Cement operates three cement manufacturing plants, one ready to use packing plant and ten packed aggregate sites in the UK.

The company recently invested in a new Multicem plastic packing plant at its Padeswood cement works in North Wales to keep up with demand and provide a stable source of supply.

Keith Ellis, Hanson’s commercial director said: “Joining the BMF is a natural step for us. We aim to make it easy for customers to do business with us and this brings us closer to an important customer group. It is another important link for our dedicated sales and marketing team who support the builders merchants market.”

BMF MD John Newcomb said: “Hanson is a leading supplier of heavy building materials with a strong merchant presence and a global pedigree. I’m delighted to welcome a heavy-side company with such a weighty profile and look forward to working with them as we strive to represent the wider industry in this election year.”
