The George Bence Group, the 171 year old family run builders merchant, have opened their 10th branch, in Swindon.
Group managing director Paul Bence, said: “We are absolutely delighted to bring our services to the local building community of Wiltshire. Strategically, Swindon has been on our radar for a while, and when the opportunity arose to take a knowledgeable and experienced team from a closing branch, we knew it was the right time to push forward with our plans. Personally, it has been a long term goal to take our business from a single operation to double figures, and despite the current economic malaise, I couldn’t be more focussed and proud to continue to push our family business forward.”
The Bence Group has three other mixed merchant branches in the Cotswolds, alongside specialist divisions in roofing, plumbing, decorating and kitchen & bathroom design studios with a growing online retail business based in Abingdon.
The new branch is managed by Lee Adcock, who says: “With the clear backing of independent owners, and a fantastic team in Swindon, we are delighted to be back serving the trades people of Swindon and its surrounding areas under the Bence brand.”
