CEMEX returns with its Driving Apprenticeship Scheme to recruit 18 new young people wanting a career in driving aggregate tippers and cement tankers.
The 12 month programme is run in conjunction with Systems Training, offering framework to achieve a Driving Goods Apprenticeship Level 2 and Category C+E licence. The 18 apprentices will be taught about Health and Safety standards, customer expectations, and gain driving experience
Dave Hart, CEMEX logistics and supply chain director, said: “We very much hope we can find the high calibre apprentices who want to play a key role in CEMEX UK. They will be based at our operations throughout the country with experienced logistics experts to mentor them. It’s a challenging scheme but will give the young person a skill and career for life.
“They will be joining a talented and experienced Logistics team who in total operate over 300 vehicles travelling 12 million miles a year to deliver a vital building material to build our homes, hospitals, roads and much more.”
