Family business Digby Stone, industry-leading supplier of natural stone and porcelain paving hard landscaping products bring another successful year to a close with the acceptance of two distinguished awards within the construction industry. Despite precarious circumstances for all businesses in the current political climate, the company were presented with the Civils and Landscaping Supplier of the Year Award at the NBG Conference 2019, in recognition of its continued product excellence and exceptional customer service.
Speaking of this distinction following the awards ceremony, director Andy Williamson commented: “To be recognised by our customers as a great supplier is absolutely fantastic and gives all our staff a real boost after all the hard work they put in for our customers. All of us are so proud of this award”
Following a busy and exciting week preparing for the conference, there was scarcely time to celebrate the win before the company headed off to the Hilton Park Lane in London for the prestigious Builders’ Merchants Awards 2019, where managing director Claire Digby had been shortlisted for the Woman in Merchanting Award. The category celebrates those within the industry who resolve to increase the level of women working within the sector, and as a successful woman in a male-dominated business, the subject is a matter close to Claire’s heart. Following an illuminating ceremony, hosted by the sensational Dame Kelly Holmes, Claire was announced the winner of her category and was presented with the Woman in Merchanting Award for her continued efforts with female recruiting in the sector.
Founded in 2008 by husband and wife Darren and Claire Digby, with humble beginnings in a single room at the Stourbridge home, Digby Stone has gone from strength to strength over the years and now boasts two dedicated sites, in Halesowen and Felixstowe, with a local workforce of 20 employees.
