Covers invites local MP to Get Britain Building

The Conservative MP was invited to the Burgess Hill branch by depot manager Terry Lace.

Soames was taken around the site at Fairfield Road and said he was impressed with the amount of stock Covers kept and the amount of services they had to offer. He was joined by Covers financial director, Rupert Green and commercial director Henry Green.

The Get Britain Building campaign is a coalition of organisations from within the construction sector who are calling for the creation of a new business environment to help the UK construction industry thrive and prosper in these difficult times.

One of the key issues is to cut VAT to 5% for all building repair and maintenance work. Lace said “This cut in tax would help generate business for all involved in the construction industry which has seen an incredible economic downturn in recent months”.
