City rumour mill targets Travis Perkins and Howden Joinery

City speculation is rising that joinery supplier Howden Joinery could be the subject of a takeover. And the analysts are suggesting that it could be a perfect fit for Travis Perkins.
Broker Evolution Securities believes that Travis could be in line for another deal, now that the competition issues surrounding the BSS acquisition have been ironed out.

The speculation casued the share price of both companies to rise.

Evolution said that with both companies being UK-focused, with kitchens a complementary business line for Travis’s merchant division, such a move would also be beneficial to Travis Perkins’ Wickes DIY business.
