Cement manufacturer Cemex has released its global sales figures for the third quarter of 2009 showing falls in all geographical regions.

Overall net sales were $4.2bn, down from $5.8bn for the same period in 2008.
Operations in the UK saw a fall of 26% to $330m, the US was down 38% at $751m, Mexico fell 27% to $761m, while Spain fared worst of all falling 41% to $217m.
Net sales in the Rest of Europe region decreased 17% during the third quarter of 2009 to US$986 million
However, the figures do show a sequential, quarter-to-quarter basis rise of close to 1%, compared with the second quarter of 2009.
Hector Medina, Executive Vice President of Finance and Legal, said that leading indicators in several of the group’s markets are showing signs of improvement.
