Brick makers appoint new managing director

Brick manufacturers Michelmersh Brick Holdings have appointed Mike Thomas as the new managing director for their brick-making operations.
The appointment is part of a restructuring at the group, which owns the Blockleys, Michelmersh, Charnwood , Duntons and Taperell Taylor brands.

Thomas was previously with Anglian Windows and Texon International.

Two weeks ago the group announced that up to 50 jobs are likely to go at their brick operations in Shropshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire, following a pre-tax loss in the first half of the financial year of £483,000 on turnover of £12.5m.
