BMF Members Day saw the launch of the Find-A-Merchant iPad/iPhone App, a joint venture with independent buying group NMBS.
The App allows users to input either their postcode or their GPS location and they will get a list of their local NMBS and BMF member merchants. They can then click on the merchant they chose and find all the relevant details, address, contact numbers and map position.
BMF managing director Chris Pateman described the launch as “one of the most exciting things we’ve done”. He said: “More and more merchant customers are using the latest technology every day to help them in their business. This is a brilliant way of ensuring that those customers are directed to a proper bona-fide merchant rather than a DIY shed.”
NMBS managing director Chris Hayward said that the App will continue to be developed to ensure that it brings real value for all the members and merchants.
“There’s a lot more we can do with this sort of technology. This is definitely an ongoing development and one that’s really exciting for merchants.”
