Water heater maker Beaumont UK has gone into liquidation, with a total deficiency of just over £1m.
Liquidator Marks Bloom reported that the Salisbury-based company went into voluntary liquidation on June 10, blaming a 10-year decline in sales on lack of marketing activity, coupled with a shaft towards lowest-price tendering which worked against the company’s high-spec products.
Sales in 2005 were £1.75m with net profit of £66k; two years later sales had plunged to £438k, with a net loss of £161k.
The intellectual property rights have been acquired by an un-named associated company.
