Independent Scottish builders merchant Beatsons Building Supplies Limited, has launched a new ecommerce website with over 24,000 products available online.
The website is managed by a dedicated team of three people from the company’s head office in Alloa. The initial offering of 24,000 products will rise to a final offering of around 80,000 products by the end of 2013 including a full roofing and agricultural range of products available across the UK.
Beatsons managing director, John Marshall said: “We are very excited by the new opportunities that this site will offer us as a company. The general public are already very used to buying online from sites such as Amazon, Ebay and Tesco.
“A lot of our customers already deal with us via email and text and a move across to online buying is the next logical step. If we fail to offer building materials online then our industry may be overtaken by others willing to do it.”
The company has depots in Alloa, Cumbernauld, Dunfermline & Penicuik.
