Simon Raywood, head of health & safety at MKM Building Supplies, has been appointed as chair of the BMF Health, Safety & Wellbeing Working Group.
Raywood has been a member of the working group since 2018, providing advice and guidance to help protect the well-being of people working in member companies.
Raywood started his career as a forklift truck driver and instructor before moving into health and safety in 1998, working with Howdens Joinery, Arco, Smith & Nephew, and in his own consultancy business for five years, before joining MKM. He holds a BSc Degree in safety & environmental management.
BMF CEO, John Newcomb, commented: “This is an important working group for the BMF, and Simon has already made an outstanding contribution as a member of the group for the past seven years and has the knowledge, experience, and understanding that will make him an excellent chair. I would also like to thank the outgoing chair, Richard Bryne, who is stepping down from the role as he leaves the industry, for helping us set new standards supporting members in this vital area.”
