Builders Merchants Journal – BMJ Publishing to Builders Merchants and the UK merchanting industry for more than 95 years
Independent builders merchant Sydenhams has acquired Abingdon builders merchant F Knight & Sons.
The purchase takes Sydenhams, based in Bournemouth, to 28 branches.
Purchasing director Chris Carter said: “We are very pleased to bring F Knight & Sons of Abingdon into the Sydenhams portfolio. Much like Sydenhams, it is a well-respected, family-run company who serves its local area well. This will be our first high-street branch, and offers an exciting opportunity with a different product and customer mix to what we are used to.
“We plan to continue the great work F Knight & Sons has done over the years, and we will invest in enhancing the product and service offering to both trade and retail customers.”
